Summer Cook Club: Younger Kids Italian Special - Pizza & Gelato

Welcome to 'My Rainbow Kitchen' Holiday Cookery Classes. 

My name is Sayjel Patel and I am a qualified chef and dietitian. I have been running children's cookery classes for the past 10 years. The aim of my club is to encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way. We informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from. Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more cooking skills.

In the fourth of our Summer Classes, we will open the class to our younger budding chefs and will be covering some Italian Classics and will make Creative Neapolitan Pizza based on a traditional yeasted pizza dough for the base and a classic tomato sauce for the topping. The kids will be able to experiment with their additional toppings.  They will have a selection of cheeses, cooked meats and vegetable toppings to choose from. The aim is to encourage kids to try different ingredients and combinations. 

We will also make a no churn Vanilla Ice cream which will then be folded with Peanut Butter Clusters made by the children before further freezing. If your child is allergic to peanuts we can use an alterntive mix -in for their ice cream.

This class will be suitable for children aged 7 to 11 year olds. If your child is slightly older (ie upto 13 years) and want to be challenged, I can give them more advanced tasks during the class so that they will catered for too!

Please do not send your child if they or any other household member are experiencing covid related or flu symptoms.

Allergen information: this course uses wheat and dairy. I may be able to substitute but for more information regarding the ingredients used, please contact me before booking your course.

Please book early to avoid disappointment. Once the class is at full capacity, I will not be able to take on any more children unfortunately.
