No Bake Strawberry Cheesecake

I am offering Online Zoom classes for your gourmet Mini Chefs to learn independant cooking in a fun enjoyable way

During the class we will cover 1 key recipe using quality ingredients.  We will informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from where applicable.

This key recipe will be utilising 1 or more essential cooking skill. For the No bake Strawberry Cheesecake recipe your children will learn how to properly whip cream and fold in to the chessecake mixture. We will be introducing basic knife skills by preparing the strawberries and make a fresh strawberry coulis using cornflour as a thickener.

We will be discussing seasonal fruit at this time of year and what alternatives can be used through out the year according to the seasons.

This zoom lesson is geared towrds children age 7-12 years of age.

These are the ingredients you will require for the recipe:

Ingredients

• 200g digestives / oat biscuits
• 100g butter / coconut oil
• 400g cream cheese 
• 70g icing sugar (or Xylitol)
• 200ml double cream
• drop of vanilla extract
• 400g strawberries
• 2tbsp + 2tsp caster sugar (approx 40g in total)

Alternatively If you live locally you can pick up all measured ingredients from MY RAINBOW KITCHEN for an additional cost of 10 pounds

This is the equipment you require for the recipe:

• 20cm /8inch springform tin
• Hand whisk or Electric Whisk*
• Potato Masher or Hand Blender*
• Spatula
• Mixing spoons x 2
• Mixing bowls x 2
• Small bowl
• Small Saucepan
• Rolling pin
• Plastic or Ziploc Bag
• Small knife*
• Chopping board

SAFETY NOTICE:

If your child is under 10 years old, I recommend a parent or guardian is present to supervise the child. You should assess your childs cooking ability and the recipe covered and decide whether you need to be present on the zoom or not. Any recipe requiring heat (ie oven hob) or sharp utentsil or equipment (ie knives, graters) carry a risk of accidental injury. These will usually be stated beforehand if required.
