About the Event

Kids will love preparing their own Tea Party Treats in preparation for the Queens Platinum Jubilee!

The aim of my club is to encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way. During a typical sessions we will cover 2-3 recipes using quality ingredients.  We informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from. 

Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more essential cooking skill. In this Jubilee Special the kids will make their make their own Scotch eggs from scratch. They will first boil their eggs to perfection then encase in a seasoned pork mince before dipping seasoned flour, egg wash and bread crumbs. These will then be fried or baked to perfection. They will  make traditional Mayonnaise and the learn basics of Emulsification. This will be flavoured with some mild mustard to accompany their scotch eggs. 

The kids will then make super light and fluffy Scones and serve with fresh Clotted cream and their own Strawberry Jam.They will learn about the role of Pectin in Jam making.

All participants will be encouraged to taste their gourmet creations as well as taking home to share with their families.

All children are requested to take a lateral flow test either at a community testing centre or at home within 48 hours of attending your class.

Please do not send your child if they or any other household member are experiencing covid related symptoms. 

Allergen information: this course uses wheat and dairy. We may be able to substitute but For more information regarding our ingredients, please contact us before booking your course.

This class is suitable for Children 9 years and above.  Teens are also welcome!
