About the Event

The class will encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way. This Spring & Summer we are growing our own herbs, vegetables and edible flowers. Children will be able to pick and cook using own home grown produce.

During the class we will cover 2-3 recipes using quality ingredients. We will informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from.

Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more essential cooking skill. In this Italian inspired class the children will learn to make fresh bread for the pizza base and a classic tomato sauce for the topping. They will prepare additional toppings and bake the pizza using a classic Italian pizza peel. For the fresh Gelato the children will learn about seasonal fruit and flavours in addition to whipping cream & the science of making Ice-cream (the Italian way!)

The children will be encouraged to taste their gourmet creations as well as taking home to share with their families..
