About the Event
This May Half Term we will create some delicious Chinese Takeaway Favourites!
The aim of my clubs is to encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way.
During a typical session we will cover 2-3 recipes using quality ingredients. We informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from. Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more essential cooking skills.
In this Chinese Special, we will be making succulent hoisin chicken which will be shredded for our pancakes. We will be julienning our vegetables to complement the chicken and make a plum sauce from fresh plums. The children will be taught how to marinate their chicken correctly and bake to perfection. Vegetarians need not worry, we can substitute chicken with quorn or tofu.
For their sweet treat, the children will be making their own fortune cookies with their own messages. These will be iced with chocolate or icing and adorned with sprinkles, edible flowers or natural freeze dried or glace fruit.
For my classes, all children are requested to take a home covid test either within 48 hours of attending the class.
Please do not send your child if they or any other household member are experiencing covid related or flu symptoms.

These classes are suitable for Children 9 years and above. Teens are also welcome!
