About the Event
The class will encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way.
During the class we will cover 2-3 recipes using quality ingredients. We will informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from. Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more essential cooking or kitchen skill.
In this quintessential Autumn class the children will learn to make a Risotto from scratch. They will learn all about fresh produce available for the autumn season and ingredients which can be used as an alternative to pumpkin. They will learn about different herbs which can complement other seasonal ingredients. For the Sticky Toffee Pudding we will focus on the various raising agents and techniques that can be used to achieve a light airy pudding. The students will make their own butterscotch sauce in addition to a Creamy Vanilla ice cream
The children will be encouraged to taste their gourmet creations as well as taking home to share with their families..
