Kids Easter Cook Club - Chicken (or Vegetarian) Kievs & Mini Apple Strudels

This Easter we will create some delicious Easter Treats!

The aim of my clubs is to encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way.

During a typical session we will cover 2-3 recipes using quality ingredients.  We informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from. Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more essential cooking skills.

In this Easter Holiday Special, we will be making succulent Chicken Kievs which would make the perfect mid week meal. The children will be taught how to tenderise their chicken correctly. They will make a garlic butter for the centre then coat in flour, egg wash and breadcrumbs to creat a crispy crunchy coating. Vegetarians need not worry, we can substitute chicken with Quorn, Portabello mushroom or a a root vegetable. The concept of filling, coating and cooking will remain the same!

For their sweet treat, the children will be making Mini Apple Strudels. They will first make their apple filling from fresh apples. Once cooled they will roll puff pastry to encase their apple filling. These will be egg washed to create a nice crisp glaze when baked!

For my classes, all children are requested to take a home covid test either  within 48 hours of attending the class.

Please do not send your child if they or any other household member are experiencing covid related or flu symptoms.

These classes are suitable for Children 9 years and above.  Teens are also welcome!
