Kids Christmas Cook Club: 'A Christmas Dinner Special!'

Welcome to my 'My Rainbow Kitchen' Festive Cookery Classes. I will be running approximately 2-3 children's Holiday Classes this Christmas (2 in December & possibly 1 in the new Year). 

Alternatively, if you would like to form your own group maybe with your child/children and their friends, please do contact me as I have a few dates available for private group bookings. If there are 6 children in total, the price cost per child works out similar to the Holiday Clubs.

For those that don’t know me already, my name is Sayjel Patel and I am a qualified chef and dietitian. I have been running children's cookery classes for the past 10 years. The aim of my club is to encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way. We informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from. Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more cooking skills.

In the first of our Festive Classes, we will be covering some Christmas Classics and will make some a Chicken Traybake with all the trimmings. To accompany the chicken in their one tray-bake will be either pigs in blankets or freshly made stuffing. Seasonal roasted root vegetables will be available including Pumpkin, Squash, Carrots, Parsnips & Potato. If your children wish to add Brussel Sprouts they will also be available. Timings of each addition will be key to ensure everything is cooked through to perfection. The children will then make their separate gravy with the pan juices.

We will also make Christmassy Silky Bread and Butter Pudding layered with a Homemade Mincemeat within the Rich Custardy Filling. This can be served hot with our Homemade Vanilla Ice-cream.

Please do not send your child if they or any other household member are experiencing covid related or flu symptoms.

Allergen information: this course uses wheat and dairy. I may be able to substitute but for more information regarding the ingredients used, please contact me before booking your course.

Please book early to avoid disappointment. Once the class is at full capacity, I will not be able to take on any more children unfortunately.

These classes are suitable for Children 9 years and above.  Teens are also welcome!
