About the Event

The class will encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way. 

During the class we will cover 2-3 recipes using quality ingredients.  We will informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from. Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more essential cooking or kitchen skill.  

Your child  will learn all about dishes that can be made over the festive period and learn about seasonal ingredients at this time of year. They will kick off by making their own Festive Scotch Eggs with a seasonal twist using it in their Turkey & Pork Mince. They will learn how to  boil an egg to different stages and also how to correctly pané in breadcrumbs.  For the Mince Pies your child will also learn to make a sweet shortcrust pastry. They will be shown how to roll & cut the pastry before filling with Homemade mincemeat. Finally they will top with homemade marzipan stars! To accompany these festive treats your child will make their own Creme Chantilly learning the basics of whipping cream and how these may be flavoured for different occasions 

The children will be encouraged to taste their gourmet creations as well as taking home to share with their families. They will also recieve a recip booklet for the class.
