About the Event
The class will encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way. This Spring & Summer we are growing our own herbs, vegetables and edible flowers. Children will be able to pick and cook using own home grown produce.
During this special class I will be introducing the children to new flavours and spices. We will cover 5 basic Indian recipes working together to create a harmonious blend of flavours in our dishes. As usual we will discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from.
To begin with the children will marinate their chicken using yoghurt and fresh spices then make their own naan dough. They will then make a simply spiced vegetable rice, raita and carrot & cumin salad. Finally they will bake their chicken & naan in the oven
For desert they will make a simple but delectable passionfriuit cheesecake with a mellow ginger crust.
Your children will be encouraged to taste their gourmet creations as well as taking home to share with their families..
