About the Event
The class will encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way. This Spring & Summer we are growing our own herbs, vegetables and edible flowers. Children will be able to pick and cook using own home grown produce.
During the class we will cover 2-3 recipes using quality ingredients. We will informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from.
Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more essential cooking skill. In this Japanese inspired class the children will learn to make Fresh sushi rice for their Sushi. They will prepare a variety of Seasonal fillings focusing on basic Knife skills. They will then roll their Sushi using a traditional Sushi Mat mastering both Traditional Sushi Rolls and the more modern California Rolls.
For the Easter cookies your child will make & bake light delecate cookies. They will pipe with royal icing and decorate accordingly. These will make the perfect Easter gift!
Your children will be encouraged to taste their gourmet creations as well as taking home to share with their families..

We will be running a 1 Easter cook club each week during the Easter holiday so if your child can't make this one there will be others in the following weeks.
