The class will encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way. 

This Spring & Summer we are growing our own herbs, vegetables and edible flowers. Children will be able to pick and cook using own home grown produce.

During the class we will cover 2-3 recipes using quality ingredients.  We will informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from. 

Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more essential cooking skill. In this Japanese inspired class the children will  learn to make Fresh sushi rice for their Sushi.  They will prepare a variety of Seasonal fillings focusing on basic Knife skills. They will then roll their Sushi using a traditional Sushi Mat. 

For the White Chocolate & Mango Mousse your children will learn about Fruits and Flavours typical of Japan and the Orient. They will learn the fundamentals on simple mousse making (and gain an understanding of eggs in cooking) then bake their own Coconut Macaroons
