About the Event

My Masterclass will take you on an educational voyage into the world of fermentation, leaving you with the skills & techniques to confidently prepare your own fermented foods and beverages at home.

In a world of convenience foods including the current trend of shop bought ferments (such as kombucha, kefir, pickles) claiming to be authentic, I will show you how preparing from scratch is not only healthier, but also tastier and costs a fraction of the price!

You can experience varied and flavour-packed ferments first hand, and learn the entire preparation process for creating a variety of fermented goods from start to finish. You will be equipped with knowledge of achieving the right balance of flavour and acidity of your ferments.

Where possible we will be using local seasonal ingredients in addition to homegrown ingredients in My Rainbow Kitchen. I will also give suggestions on how each recipe can be modified throughout the seasons.

Each participant will learn to make and take home:

A small bottle of Kombucha (and a Scoby to continue their Kombucha Journey)

A bottle of Lacto Fermented Preserve

A bottle of Lacto Fermented Condiment

There will be further demonstration of another Fermented items and Milk Kefir  in addition to  Sourdough Blinis (made from my Sourdough Starter)

Taster Samples, Snacks & Nibbles in addition to Beverages will be available during the class.

I have small batches of other Lacto fermented items i.e Organic Fermented Mustard, Habanero Chilli Sauce, Kimchi, Kombucha Pickled Red Onions, Coffee Kombucha and these will be available to buy.

I also have pots of Clint Yeastwood (my trusted RYE Sourdough starter) and Doughy Kardashian (my WHITE Sourdough Starter)  if you wish to foray into the world of Sourdough Bread Making at Home!

All items are 5 -6 pounds each (in cash please)

Please specify which items you are interested in taking home after the class. I can't promise all will be available but will try to accommodate your choices or you can place an order on the day to pick up at a later date.

Other items to note:

All participants are requested to take a lateral flow test either at a community testing centre or at home within 48 hours of attending your class.

Please do not attend if you or any other household member are experiencing covid related symptoms.

Allergen information: this course uses wheat and dairy. We may be able to substitute ingredients, so please specify on your booking form.
